Weekly Meal Plan
The theme of this week’s meal plan was eat through. That’s what I like to call it when we we’re going on a trip and I don’t want to do lots of grocery shopping before we go out of town. We also needed to make room in our freezer, refrigerator, and pantry for our home {Weekly Meal Plan}
A New Roof
I’m happy to report that our new roof is installed and finished. I’m even happier to report that I didn’t have to do anything for it. Well, I take that back…I spent 2011 telling my husband that 2012 was the year of the roof and that we were going to pay someone else to install {A New Roof}
Laundry Chute Evolution
The final component of the bathroom re-do, the laundry chute door, was a real puzzle to figure out. We were really brainstorming about what to use – Brand new door? Custom made door? Build it ourselves out of wood door? Find a used cabinet door? A reader , Laurie, even had a great suggestion of {Laundry Chute Evolution}
Vacation Meal Planning
If you’re a regular reader here at Go Gingham, you know that I’m a regular weekly meal planner. I’m such a regular meal planner, I even plan our meals when going on a vacation or for a weekend away. For spring break, we’re headed to San Francisco for a home exchange. The people we’re trading {Vacation Meal Planning}
Weekly Meal Plan
We’ve gotten used to eating tomato soup made from tomatoes grown in our garden so when I made a quick tomato soup this week with canned tomatoes, we all agreed it didn’t taste nearly as good and was too salty. At the end of last tomato season, I roasted all of the remaining tomatoes, in {Weekly Meal Plan}
Dinner Group Gathering
Our dinner group met earlier this month and as usual it was delicious. I think what I love the most about being part of a dinner group, aside from getting together with friends regularly in a lovely setting, is being forced to try new recipes. I don’t usually cook with recipes and I am usually {Dinner Group Gathering}
How Jeans Became Capris
Remember how I made my daughter’s jeans smaller by tapering the legs? Well, we had to do some more altering on another pair of jeans. These jeans still fit my daughter but were getting to be too short so I said, “Hey, how about we make these jeans into denim capris?” My daughter was thrilled. {How Jeans Became Capris}
Weekly Meal Plan
This week’s meal plan went according to plan, mostly. Well, I forgot we had dinner group on Friday and our kids ate at home without us. My son had signed up to make dinner on Friday but I don’t like to assign a dinner for someone else to cook if I’m not going to be {Weekly Meal Plan}
DIY Project We Did Not Do Ourselves
We’re having the roof on our house replaced this week. You might be wondering why we’ve hired a contractor – even our daughter asked why we weren’t replacing the roof ourselves – since we generally do all of our home improvement projects ourselves because it saves lots of money. The truth is, we replaced the {DIY Project We Did Not Do Ourselves}
DIY Project Claw Feet
As you’ll recall, we discovered an ugly secret during our bathroom re-do project about our claw foot bathtub: our bathtub was missing one of its claw feet. To be honest with you, I’ve always thought it was me, not the bathtub, whenever the bathtub moved during my shower. I’d begin to question myself: Did I {DIY Project Claw Feet}

Do you have short-term and long-term financial goals? Have you tracked your household spending? Have you set-up a {Just Get Started Today}
Debt: You Decide
Saturday: Debt Debt is not necessarily bad. Buying a house with a mortgage means you have debt. Home ownership is not a bad thing. Buying a house for more than you can honestly afford (making you “house poor”) is a bad thing. The trick is you need to decide the level of debt you’re comfortable {Debt: You Decide}
Weekly Meal Plan
Another week, another week of meal planning and making dinners. The freshest meal this week was Monday’s dinner. The eggs were from our backyard chickens who are finally back into their routine of laying and the mustard greens were fresh from the garden. The greens had grown all winter (meaning they hadn’t died over the {Weekly Meal Plan}
