Weekly Meal Plan

When it’s really hot outside, I have no interest in cooking during the heat of the day. This weekly meal plan was the hottest week of the summer we’ve had here so we either cooked in the morning to eat at dinner time or we cooked outside. Cooking outside meant the wok cooker. It’s actually a stand that a wok sits on top of. It’s also what I used to melt the wax from the candle project. We also had a clam bake on Friday night which is a favorite of my husband’s and very east coast, where he grew up. With lots of corn on the cob, potatoes and fresh seafood, everything goes into a big pot and boils away. We sat outside and had messy dining but it was so tasty.

Weekly Meal Plan

This meal plan is from Monday, August 13, 2012 to Sunday, August 19, 2012.

Monday: pinto beans, shrimp, tomatoes, avocado, and cilantro salad

Tuesday: ground pork and broccoli (the broccoli was fresh from our neighbor’s garden – thanks for sharing it, Tracy!)

Wednesday: summer dinner (pasta with tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella)

Thursday: Mediterranean quinoa salad

Friday: clam bake (pictured below)

Sunday: garden eating – otherwise known as what we have lots of in the garden that needs eating before slugs or chickens find a way to munch on it!

My daughter made the summer dinner on Wednesday night and my son made dinner on Sunday. Sunday’s dinner was pesto on pasta and a green salad. It was super fresh from the garden.

    1. Miggie, yes! You’re right! I’ve not posted about the wok cooker and I need to. My family gets too impatient at the dinner hour when I say, “Let me take pictures of this” so I admit that I’m not in a rush. I do love it because it adds flavor or seer to the outside of food that we can’t achieve on our electric stove in the house. Yes, I’ll do it!! only because you asked so nicely 🙂
