Our family will be on vacation for the next couple of weeks. While we’re away, I have a couple of guest posts scheduled as well as a couple of my own, for you to look forward to. You can read about the topics and authors below. My posts are all scheduled for the next few weeks, but if you’ve never left a comment on Go Gingham before, it may take a couple of days for it to appear. New comments will not be moderated as quickly, since we’ll be camping for part of the time and without internet. Your patience is appreciated and I’ll approve all new comments as soon as we get back to civilization.
We’re traveling to Carlsbad, California, visiting and staying with our good friends from college. While we’re away from our home, a family from Spain is staying in our house. We’re doing what is called a “non-simultaneous home exchange.” A non-simultaneous home exchange happens when you stay at a house at a different time from when your exchange partners are staying at your house.
The family from Spain is at our house now and we’ll travel to their home during the summer next year, in 2012. We love home swapping and hope to schedule another exchange for our 2012 Spain trip to either France, Portugal or somewhere else in Spain. We’re flexible about our destinations.
The guest posts scheduled are as follows:
On Monday, August 8th, Kristin Jackson will be sharing a how-to tutorial on covering a hula hoop with fabric. Kristin is a crafter and a personal trainer. She and I share a love of fresh-air exercising, crafting, and hula hooping. Tune in for Kristin’s tutorial! The post involves using your fabric scraps (which is something else I love!) on the hula hoop. You can find Kristin’s Take it Outside Fitness site here and her crafting blog here. You’ll need a hula hoop, too. Mine came from Canyon Hoops or you can make one yourself by following Kristin’s easy tutorial.
On Monday, August 15th, my sister Mary Werner, will be sharing about her gardening adventures in Alaska. Mary is a nursing student and an avid knitter, who is becoming an expert gardener in her new hometown of Anchorage. She’s engaged to her “Mountain Man,” and is missed dearly here in Portland, especially by me. Mary shares her knitting (and other) endeavors here.
I’ll also be attending the BlogHer 2011 conference in San Diego. Not having attended one of these events before , I’m looking forward to attending the conference and meeting other bloggers in person. If you’re going, please look me up. I’ll be the one wearing gingham!
I hope you’re enjoying your summer. Please post a comment below to let me know what you’re up to.
