Links to Like: Financial Sites I Like

Links-to-Like Since this month is National Financial Literacy month, this week’s focus is money, budgeting, and personal finance.  I don’t just recommend sites on a whim  so, if it’s listed below, that means it’s worth sharing.  If you have a favorite financial site, I’d love to hear about it!

Financial RX founder, Wendy Mihm, says “I started Financial because I was in that very same position. Despite having an MBA and experience in corporate marketing, I was amazed at how much I still needed to learn to make smart financial decisions for our family. I turned to the web for help, but could not find a financial site with everything I needed all in one place – especially one that did not put me to sleep.”

Wendy’s e-mail newsletter is coming out soon and I’m on the list!  Wendy has good information for families, moms, and finding that work/life balance in life.

Budgets Are Sexy From the founder, J. Money, “Will this blog sound kooky at times? Sure thing. Will you wonder why I use the words “Super” and “Sexy” a lot? You bet. Ultimately though, my goal is to spread some good ideas around town and spark some motivation. I don’t know about you, but I get CRAZY bored reading about finances by old white men in blah styles, so I do my best to spice things up and keep things entertaining around here. We all have A.D.D., so it’s important you’re having fun on the site!”

Budgets Are Sexy founder is newly married, lives in Washington, DC, and is just getting started on his financial journey.  I told him Washington, DC is a good place to be newly married and starting on his financial journey – since that’s where I got my start, too.  I like this site because it’s fun and I never know what I’ll read!

Money Ning from the founder, David Ning, “Money Ning was founded in July of 2007 by David Ning.  David is a published author, entrepreneur and a proud dad.”  Money Ning is “A personal finance blog where we share insights on carefully saving money, investing, frugal living, coupons, promo codes because the little things matter in achieving financial freedom!”

The Wall Street Journal Not everything topic at The Wall Street Journal is related to finance.  There are plenty of articles that have to do with how we live our everyday lives.  I also like Smart Money, which is part of The Wall Street Journal.

  1. Wow Sara I’m so honored to be listed and quoted here on your gorgeous and informative site! As you know, I’m also happy to return the favor by listing Go gingham.com on FinancialRx as well.

As for the photo, I’m going to guess it’s somewhere up in British Columbia, though I don’t have a guess for the name of the lake…

    1. Thanks for the comment, Wendy! Not quite British Columbia…just up in southern Oregon – Crater Lake.
