Earthbound Farm Organic Farm Stand

On my recent trip to the headquarters of Earthbound Farm Organic, I was able to visit Earthbound Farm Organic’s “Farm Stand” and hear the story of Earthbound, see first hand how food that’s grown organically can be made into amazing meals, and meet some fabulous bloggers who share an enthusiasm for eating healthy foods.

Earthbound Farm Organic began humbly almost 30-years ago. Myra Goodman, who co-founded the company with her husband, Drew, shared how their dream to grow food using organic methods, became a reality. They sold their home-grown organic raspberries at their farm stand and then moved onto vegetables.

From meager beginnings of washing lettuces in their living room (using plain old salad spinners) and selling the zip-top bags of lettuce at their farm stand, and to local establishments, they’ve kept their same values intact.

Carmel Valley, California, where the Farm Stand has stood since 1992, couldn’t have been prettier when we visited. With the sun setting, we walked the grounds and saw plants still producing – and this was early October. When you visit the gorgeous, walk-able gardens, you can see how plants grow and where food comes from.

The Farm Stand also serves as a live-action display case for the Earthbound Farm Organic product. Buyers are able to see the fruit and vegetables in a store stetting, how it looks packaged, and how it can be displayed. This gives them ideas and inspiration to take back to their stores.

We enjoyed a meal by Executive Chef Sarah LeCasse that was farm fresh – directly from the garden.

It wasn’t just the meal that was fresh from the garden.

The setting was delightful.

The Farm Stand garden itself was magical.

And, it was all kid friendly.

The Farm Stand gardens are used for educational purposes, too.

You can take a leisurely tour of the gardens and linger with a blanket or take a quick tour. Don’t forget to bring snips and cut some fresh herbs, too.

The bloggers who I got to spend several fun-filled days with were amazing and there were cameras snapping photographs non-stop (of course!).

There were plenty of pictures being shared on Instagram, too. Search #ExperienceEarthbound to see more smart-phone shots.

Of course there was a lot of snacking – straight from the field!
