Happy New Year to you. There’s something so refreshing about the start of the New Year. I use it as a time to reflect and check-in with myself. Did I accomplish all I wanted during the year? Did I reach the goals I set for myself for the year? Did I stick with my New Year’s Resolution from last year? Is there something that still needs to be done? I know we should be doing our best every day of the year but sometimes it takes the start of the New Year to inspire me to…
Start over.
Try something new.
Challenge myself.
Make new plans.
Improve myself.
Reach for new goals.
What are your goals for the New Year? Trying something different? Got a new plan?
May you have much health and happiness in the New Year. Happy 2012 and thank you so much for reading Go Gingham!
My goal is to stay true to my “one word” as best I can. Feel free to come link-up too!

I’m very introverted so I need time alone to re-energize. I also work surrounded by people constantly as a teacher where there are a million things needing my attention. The result is I can feel overwhelmed and I turn into a hermit outside of work. My resolution is to find a better work, alone, social life balance this year. I’ll say no to students who want to come in during lunch so I can recharge in the middle of the day and be better during class. I’ll keep the first hour of when I get home for walking the dogs, reading a book, or otherwise recharging rather than burning off the last fumes of energy by diving directly into grading and prepping. It can wait an hour. I’ll make time to call or visit a friend every week, preferably more, but not to fall into the weeks of hermit mode I’ve done this year.

Indigo, these seem like great goals and ones that you’ll be able to stick to. You’re smart to get some fresh air to re-charge. I know that helps me. Good luck with this. This will be a huge benefit to you as well those around you during the day. Happy New Year!
