I like to be spoiled on Mother’s Day, I’ll admit it. My family cooks and we usually go to the plant nursery to pick up some flowers, herbs, and veggies for the garden.

I spend Mother’s Day with my husband and kids, and I usually like to visit the arboretum or a public garden. I also like to go to a garden center and buy some spring flowers, shrubs, or ‘whatever” for the yard.

My mother passed away when I was a teenager after a long illness. But I have aunt who is like a mother she was always there to step in for my mother when she was to ill. Then after she passed away she took me in like one of her own. I like to spend the day with her and my 3 girls.

Each Mother’s Day my four children, my husband and I have brunch together. After brunch, we plant something new in the flower garden and maybe a new veggie or herb in the regular garden. Then we climb in the hammock for family reading time and some ice cold lemonade. Pretty perfect day!
